Making Medicine Greener:
Sustainable Choices for a Healthier Future
At Living Well with Dr. Wilson, we believe that healthcare and sustainability go hand in hand. That’s why we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact while continuing to provide top-quality care. Through innovative initiatives and eco-friendly choices, we are working towards a greener future in medicine.
Recycling & Waste Reduction
We take responsibility for the waste generated in our clinic and have implemented a comprehensive recycling program through Terra Cycle. We ensure that:
Soft plastics from medical supplies are collected and recycled instead of being sent to landfills.
Medical gloves are disposed of responsibly through the Terra Cycle recycling program.
Blister packs are collected and recycled through the Terra Cyle recycling program, reducing unnecessary waste. Patients are also encouraged to dispose of their blister packs at the clinic.
Coffee pods used in our clinic are collected and sent to recycling programs that repurpose them into new products.
Harnessing Renewable Energy
To further our commitment to sustainability, we have invested in clean energy solutions:
Solar panels installed on our clinic’s roof provide renewable energy, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
Battery storage systems help us store excess energy, ensuring we use power efficiently while decreasing our carbon footprint.
Sustainable Medicine Practices
Beyond recycling and energy efficiency, we continuously strive to make medicine greener by:
Choosing suppliers who prioritise sustainability in their products and packaging.
Reducing single-use plastics in our operations where possible.
Encouraging digital records and e-prescriptions to minimise paper waste.
At Living Well with Dr. Wilson, we are proud to lead the way in making healthcare more sustainable. By taking these steps, we are not only caring for our patients but also for the planet.
